A view is yours alone until you share it with your company, and the address bar carries whatever you are looking at, so a copied link opens the same table for a colleague. Saved views are available on the LCA groups list. ## What a view remembers | Part | What it captures | | :------ | :-------------------------------------------------------- | | Columns | Which columns are shown, and the order they appear in | | Filter | Every condition in the filter, including the quick search | | Sort | The column the table is ordered by, and the direction | Nothing else is stored. Column widths, pinned columns and row density are remembered per browser rather than on the view, and the page you are on rides in the link. ## Build and save a view 1. Open the LCA groups list. The tabs above the table list every view, starting on **Default view**, which is the layout the app ships with. 2. Narrow the rows. Type in the filter bar for a quick match across the table, and press Enter to keep it as a chip; typing the value of a column such as PCR also offers that value as a filter. Use the funnel on a column header for one field, or the funnel at the start of the filter bar for several conditions at once. Each condition shows as a chip in the bar, and the footer counts the rows that match. 3. Click a column header to sort by it. Click again to reverse the direction. 4. Reorder or hide columns from the **Display** menu. Row height sits in the same menu but stays with your browser rather than joining the view. 5. As soon as anything differs from the view you are on, a dot appears on its tab and **Reset** and **Save as new view** appear at the right end of the toolbar. Click **Save as new view**, name the view, turn on **Share with company** if your colleagues should see it, and click **Create view**. The new view is selected straight away. A personal view appears as a tab for you alone; a shared one appears for everyone in your company. **New view**, at the end of the tabs, does the same from whatever is on screen without waiting for a change. ## Change or discard a view Adjust a saved view the same way you built it, then choose: * **Save** writes your changes onto the view. * **Save as new view** leaves the original alone and creates a second view from what is on screen. * **Reset** throws your changes away and puts the view back the way it was saved. To delete a view, select its tab and open the menu beside it, then choose **Delete view** and confirm. A shared view goes for everyone in your company, and the table falls back to the default view. **Save** and **Delete view** are offered to whoever created the view, and to owners and admins. Anyone else sees **Save as new view** and **Reset** only, so a shared view cannot be rewritten out from under the team that relies on it. The default view is never saved over, so it has no **Save**. ## Share a view with your company A view starts personal. Turn on **Share with company** when you create it, or later select its tab, open the menu beside it and choose **Share with company**. **Stop sharing** in the same menu makes it personal again; colleagues who had it open fall back to the default view. That menu is the one **Delete view** lives in, so sharing and stop-sharing are offered to whoever created the view, and to owners and admins. ## Share what you are looking at Copy the address bar and send it. The link carries the view you are on plus any filter or sort layered on top, so the recipient sees the same rows in the same order even if you never saved. Two exceptions: a personal view opens as the default view for anyone but you, so share it first; and hiding or reordering a column only travels once you save it onto a view. A link to a view that has since been deleted falls back to the default view rather than showing an error.
